…still in engagement mode!!

February 2, 2009

I loved making this pretty card for Caree and Adrians’ engagement.russian-dolls-and-cards-310109-0031

The colours are simple, just 2 of them, very vanilla and pink passion, both used in the card stock and the inks. The larger hearts are from Always, the word ‘love’ is from Wonderful Words and the 2 little birds are from Favourite Teddy Bear, all Stampin’ Up. I free-handed and cut the curve on the front of the pink card and inserted the very vanilla card to the inside after I edged it with pink passion ink, which I just worked on gently with a sponge. You will notice on the front of the card that the one heart that lies just beneath the top one extends beyond the curve. I stamped the same heart on another piece of card and cut around it and adhered it to the underside of the front of the card so a whole heart is seen when the card is opened up and not just a blank tip (hope that makes sense). On the tail of the word ‘love’ I used dimensional dots to lift those darling 2 little birds off the page, I also used them to hold the little heart balloons, that I free-handed, in place. The strings are just drawn in with thefine tip of the basic black Stampin’ Write. A bit of bling …it’s an engagement card, its gotta have a bit of bling! has been used randomly with kindy glitz (crystalina) and little pink jewels. The wide ribbon is a pink organza ribbon so you can see the lower card through it and the whole card is finished off with 2 feathers, one white and the other pink. They just gently frame the top of the card and add a bit of whimsy and romance.

How gorgeous is this card!! I know you sent me a pic on the mobile but this is much clearer and brighter. I love the whole layout and design. Those birdies are sooo cute.
    Love Kirsty
