bouquet for Annie with love…

April 7, 2009

1st-workshop-and-annies-card-0371I really love working with this fabulous flower, it can be so pretty. I took 4 ink refills in different shades, pixie pink, regal rose, pretty in pink and real red and dripped a couple of drops from each randomly onto 2 thick baby wipes folded together that were placed on an old plate. I let the colours bleed a little and put the stamp straight down and up onto the card stock, no rocking or the inks marry together and you lose the mottled effect. I have just stamped all the flowers onto whisper white card stock and did some fussy cutting around each bloom. The large flower has been given some dimension by lifting the centre petals, and the red stamens have been stamped directly onto those. The base card has been versa marked with each of the flower stamps, and the white card stock has been stamped with pirouette pink and the En Francais background stamp, and  has also been matted with a small border of So Saffron card stock. I added some cream half pearls, some crystal effects, some chunky glitz, double layered pink ribbons with a little bit of hodgepodge embellishment to accent the top ribbon. I had so much fun doing this card, it’s bright but also soft, it’s pretty and its very whimsical…

Thanks for dropping by this afternoon, Sally X

Hi Sally. Love your card. The wet wipe technique is my favourite for this stamp set. I like how you also gone for a larger format with this card, coz you get to use more of those lovely flowers. Great attention to all those little details too.
