Upsy Daisy…

April 26, 2009

Had a great workshop this afternoon with my fun neighbour (…am waving at you girlfriend!!!!) and her lovely friends. We made this card, the card base is Elegant Eggplant, the matting is Only Orange. The only ink used is Elegant Eggplant and the Versa Mark was used with that  ink  for the embossing technique which is only done on Upsy Daisy. The top section of the card is Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel, I used the wheel guide to take the guess work out of getting a straight line, the bottom section is the big swirly stamp from Baroque Motifs. Upsy Daisy has been embossed using the clear embossing powder onto whisper white. The piece of Only Orange has been roughed up around the four sides with the 7-sided tool on the Cutter Kit. The circle tag is outlined with the dotty circle from Circle Circus and the verse stamped inside it is the Here for You stamp from the Friends 24-7 set, I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to position it right in the centre, then I cut it out with the 3.2 circle punch. A small orange bow is 1/4inch pumpkin pie ribbon. Then to give the whole card a little punch of bling, I have used the 2-way Glue Pen randomly in 7  spots at the ends of the swirls (only a very little dab) and then I sprinkled the orange Fine Supernova over the glue spots. I did this at the very end of completing the card so the glue was able to dry and not be smudged.

I made a little bouquet of flowers for the ladies, the petals have been punched with the circle punch using the card stock from the Sweet Always designer series papers…(From May 1 right through to May 31 if you purchase 3 packs of  select Designer Series Paper you get 1 free. Make sure you don’t miss out on this great Stampin’ Up promotion!!) The leaves have been punched out with the small oval and the large oval punch, from Old Olive textured card stock, and then wired onto a pine skewer.

As Paula was the hostess today I made her the cute little purse, that is in the catalogue (page 65). The gorgeous and very clever Kirsty Brown (go check out her blog @,….  …she does amazing things with cards and inks and stamps and ribbon..don’t forget the ribbon!!!) made this purse for a workshop she has done recently and when she showed it to me I was totally in love with it. It’s so cute hey? I used the pinker sheets of the Sweet Always designer series papers, and used 2 pink Circle Fire brads on the sides of the purse to hold the Whisper White taffeta ribbon in place. I popped a stamp in it and thanked her for having me in her home sharing the love of Stampin’ Up!! It’s so catchy!!

thanks for dropping by, Sally x
