Bella’s first home…

July 26, 2009

bella's card 25.07.09 001I had sooo much fun making this card for Bella for her house warming party last night. The stamp set is Window Dressing and is a Level 3 Hostess Gift.  I have used Chocolate Chip ink to stamp the window onto a piece of the line patterned, Kraft coloured card stock from the (*Parisian Breeze Specialty Design Series Paper) , I then clear embossed it and cut out the insides of the window and the four little windows at the very top. Then I have used some acetate behind the frame of the window so it looks like a real window. I perched the little girl, that I have coloured in with wonder crayons and a blender pen, on some Stampin’ Dimensionals so that she is just peeking out the closed window looking at the little bluebird (also coloured with crayons and blender pen). The little girl’s face is underneath the acetate and the cutesy bird is on the top of it, just sitting quietly on the window sill. I used the soft pink paper with tiny little white flowers, from the ( *Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper) behind the little girl’s face so it looks like the inside of her home is wall papered. I have a bit of  a thing at the moment to make my cards using the textured card stock as the base of the card, I just love that effect. For this card I chose the colour Regal Rose for the card base and the ribbon (1.6 cm grosgrain. The size of the card is 15cm x 15cm. The matting papers are from the Raspberry Tart collection (Designer Series Series Paper) and the Sweet Nothings collection (simply scrappin’ kits), the cute button is from the Button Boutique collection of Designer Buttons and it is tied to the rose ribbon with a tiny bow of linen thread. The sentiment is from Bella’s Bloom and it has been punched out with the *oval scallop punch.

The products that are high lighted in this pink colour are a bit of a tease. They are just a few of the many new and wonderful products from our up and coming new     *Spring Mini Catalogue     that will be out in just 6 more sleeps…August 1st!! I am telling you this catalogue is packed from cover to cover with yummy goodies that will tempt everyone who loves to use Stampin’ Up products.

What do you think…do you like this card? It’s so much fun making a special card for someone, especially when they first see it and they get so excited…just like Bella did last night. I guess if you look into your gift bag and see that your house warming gift is a jar of Gumption (a running joke with Bella and her work colleagues, one of them being my darling hubby who thought it would be a bit of a joke and it would also be a fitting gift for Bella who uses jars and jars of that stuff to clean anything and everything!!) any card would be great hey??!? I should mention though that we did buy her something more fitting and a lot nicer for her new home, a ‘welcome’  plaque that she can hang on her front door…and when it gets dirty I guess she can clean it with her Gumption!

Enjoy the remainder of your weekend, thanks for dropping by this afternoon.  Sally X

Your card is just so beautiful Sally! I love the wall paper. Very clever! I’m thinking we have to organise another craft day for sure. You can teach me a few things.
