You’re a friend that makes good times great…

October 3, 2009

Well it seems I managed the mr linky thing sort of ok last week for Keesh’s challenge, I just don’t get how to actually show the challenge on my blog yet… sorry Keesh! Anyways, so here I am again, ready to join in the fun with another great Makeesha’s Inkspiration Inspiration Challenge #13 …. I loved the vivid red design on the crisp white of the crockery, with the sandy colour tablecloth  in the inspiration, so I decided to focus on that for my card. All products are Stampin’ Up unless otherwise stated. I love the butterfly image from the Great Friend stamp set, out of the Spring Mini, so I stamped it up in Real Red and adhered it to a matting of Whisper White card stock that has been stamped in Sahara Sand ink with the Weathered background stamp, and had the corners trimmed with the corner rounder punch. I used some fine red wire (from my own stash) for the antennae on all 3 of the butterflies. The little spotty butterfly is from Flight of the Butterfly. I ran some Sahara Sand card stock through my Cuttlebug using D’vine Swirl (both non Stampin’ UP) it sort of imitates the movement in the tablecloth. Then I added some ribbon (1.27 cm of striped grosgrain) tied a red button from the Button Bouquet collection with a little bit of  Linen Thread into a tiny bow, added the sentiment, and around the edges of that I have cut out quite a few branches and leaves and placed them under the tag.  I finished off the card with some paper piercing at opposing corners. Thanks Keesh for a great challenge, I have had lots of fun playing with this one!

From what I can see of the card it looks beautiful – half of the card is cut off. Hope you can fix this – I’d love to see the whole card.
You’ve used a gorgeous stamp set.

Awesome card! Really great use of colours, I especially like the way you used the leaves around the sentiment. Very cool idea.

    Hi Sally,
I can still only see half the card but it looks great, I really like combining cuttled texture with stamps. Trimming all the silhouette branches took some work too but they are very effective. Congratulations on the arrival of your newest granddaughter too she looks beautiful.
